Hi, I’m Nicholas Hawkes—a coach, therapist, father, and lifelong student of movement and human performance.
From the Navy to the mat, from the gym floor to the treatment room, my life has been driven by one mission: to help people move better, feel better, and perform at their best—inside and outside the gym.
I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and later called San Diego, California home. Along the way, I served in the United States Navy, an experience that taught me the value of discipline, service, and adaptability—traits that continue to shape my work today.
I’ve spent over two decades immersed in performance coaching and manual therapy. I’m a CrossFit Level 4 Coach, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, and founding coach of CrossFit Invictus, one of the world’s most recognized CrossFit gyms. I also founded and owned CrossFit West Jax, where I helped build a community grounded in intelligent training and sustainable performance.
But coaching is just one side of the coin.
I’m also a certified manual therapist with advanced training in structural and neurological movement systems. My credentials include:
Active Release Techniques (ART) Full Body
Functional Range Conditioning (FRC)
Fascial Manipulation (Level 1)
ELDOA (Level 3) and Myofascial Stretching
Applied Integration Academy (AIA) Fellow
Postural Restoration Institute’s (PRI) primary and secondary courses
These systems guide how I approach movement, rehab, and performance—from addressing chronic pain to helping athletes unlock peak capacity. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe in precision, context, and treating the whole person.
Whether I’m helping someone return from injury, build strength with confidence, or fine-tune elite performance, my goal is always the same: restore balance, build resilience, and empower autonomy.
Outside the clinic and gym, I’m the proud father, and an avid lover of the outdoors, especially bike riding and trail exploration. Movement, nature, and family ground me—and I bring that same groundedness to every person I work with.
If you’re looking for guidance that blends science, experience, and heart, I’d be honored to work with you.
