What are Functional Range Systems?

Functional Range Systems® - is a complete system for client care and performance improvement! It is a system grounded in science and made up of the following approaches below:

FRA® - Functional Range Assessment® is a method of providing to each patient
Advanced Measurement Procedures, Clinical Assessment & FRC® Programming.

Eliminating guess work and seeking to get at the root of your problem(s)….you’re entitled to more than one! This provides objective measures of an individual or athletes movement capacity for each and every articulation (joint). Then training inputs (FRC®) are able to be directed at the individual’s specific deficits.

What does it do?

Manual Medicine, Treatment & Rehabilitation. This innovative soft-tissue treatment system which some refer to as the new gold standard in soft-tissue injury management is what we use day in day out to help improve range of motion, work through injuries and begin the rehab process. We use the methods above to expand on what we’ve used for years with ART and take the continued new information available in science to make your soft tissue treatments even more effective with FR™ Technique.

One of our favorite tools in helping people to own this process of learning to move around each joint in appropriate ways. Mobility - joint control with strength = Stability! Moreover, you learn to have improved neurological control of the joint and each area of the tissue that is associated with it.

FRSISMĀ® - FRS Internal Strength ModelĀ® -

This concept is based off everything above and that the neurology and strength comes from proper movement and loading of the joint. When this is applied correctly you can view strength training very differently. To steal Dr. Spinas’ (FRS founder) words “When viewed for what it is, an emergent biological phenomenon, the goals of strength training quickly change from strength displays, to a means of eliciting specific tissue adaptations that can then be synthesized by the nervous system to solve a specific problem or task requiring the generation and discharge of force.”

This means that, overall the goal here, is to manage the inputs (force) your training elicits to your joints, tissues and muscles for a better output (force), through the movements required in your life or your sport.

“Our goal here at Summit is to take these principles and apply them to your Assessment - Treatment or Rehab - and subsequently your overall Performance. We empower you to learn how to take care of yourself in the recovery process to reach your goals.” - Dr. Perkins
