What is Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue treatment?
Instrument Assisted Soft tissue work and Graston Technique® are evidence-based forms of soft tissue mobilization that enable clinicians to effectively address "adhesions, scar tissue, and fascial restrictions" in the body. Ultimately what we think are adhesions are related to poor communication of the nervous system with the body, resulting in movement dysfunctions and we end up calling them "adhesions, knots etc!"
Through comprehensive training and application to specific injuries, iasm technique work results in improved patient outcomes. Decreases recovery time, reduces need for anti-inflammatory medication, resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent.
These tools act as a substitute for the doctor’s hands allowing them to feel and affect the tissue in a different manner than with their hands alone.
